All vessel operators are to observe navigation rules when approaching the bridge
The vessel operator must keep a safe distance from the opening bridge and is to wait for a green light before proceeding through the bridge. NSW Water Police will be notified of any serious breaches observed.
The vessels travelling with the direction of tidal flow have priority for passage through the opening span. Exceptions apply. The Bridge Operator shall make announcement over the Public Address system (PA), and a Variable Message Sign shall display “make ready” to indicate vessels that have priority or “keep clear” to indicate vessels that are to wait.
